Our Story

Ames & Associates owner, Jesse Nation Ames, put on his tool bags at age 8. The son of a builder, Jesse moved west to ski the Rockies when he was 18. His 23 years in Missoula have been occupied by working in furniture, cabinetry, and frame-to-finish carpentry, with a short break for a BA in Journalism. Jesse is a trim and finish specialist with an eye for style and detail. In his free time Jesse skis, rafts, fishes, and hunts with varying degrees of success. Really, he’s best at making sawdust. From modern to mission style, curved staircases to paneled fireplaces.

In the past few years, we have been striving to bring more of our custom work in-house to have greater control and more opportunity to be creative about incorporating custom steel fabrication, built-in furniture, and custom finishes into your project. Creativity is our favorite part of building and the more facets of a project we can produce the more we get to create.
